According to the Guinness book of world records, a goldfish called George lived to be 41 years old in England.

If you have goldfish in a large aquarium, and do regular partial water chances every few weeks, a goldfish could easily live to be over 10 years old. If goldfish live in a pond where the water doesn't freeze over in the winter, they could live even longer. Somehow wild birds, coons and even your pet cat seem to catch a few.

A goldfish seem to live longer then a tropical fish because they are in the carp family and it takes more to kill them concerning water conditions.

30+ years
Goldfish DO NOT grow to the size of their container, the outsides stop growing but the insides continue to grow causing the fish to die.
Goldfish cannot live in bowls. Baby-juvenile fat fancy goldfish need 10 gallons per fish and baby-juvenile long bodied goldfish need 20 gallons per fish, adults need atleat 50 gallons PER fish. With alot of filtration and alot of partial water changes.
