I grew up in Missouri during the 50's so it's kind of hard not to be a St Louis Cardinals and, baseball fan...I don't like the DH and "bash"ball much...

If the AL would change the rule so that any one player could not DH more than twice a week, the DH would be a little easier to stomach..At least players would have to play defense most of the time..Baseball is a better game when the manager has to use his roster...

The AL has been the better league , they have won 60 World Series Championships the NL 41...

That does not mean the AL brand of baseball is better...Baseball was meant to be played by 9 guys going both ways... the fans, players and more important, the history of the game is being cheated...

American League is much better. Not even in the discussion. Who is in the National League? Don't give me the Padres either. They got two contenders and that is St. Louis and New York Mets. The American league has 7 or 8 teams that are contenders. Teams that won't make the playoffs in the American League would win the National League if they were over there. Toronto, Boston, New York, Detroit, ChiSox, Minnesota are better than any of the National League teams and Oakland and Anaheim aren't too far off.

American League dominates over the National League. Not only in All Star Games but also in the World Series.
The DH rule adds to the strategy. I think it's cool that when an American League pitcher takes the mound, he knows every single batter that comes to the plate actually knows how to swing a bat.

Do national league pitchers even participate in batting practice? If they don't, why should they be able to hit in a real game? To me it sucks when a national league team is down a couple of runs and rallys to get the bases loaded and then the pitcher comes up and strikes out with three weak swings to end the inning. If were going to do that, why don't we send triple crown candidates to the mound to pitch? It's just stupid to me.

American League. They won the All Star game every time since 1999. They have world series winners 2 years in row. The Tigers are in 1st an the American League. The Red Sox are in 2nd and in the American League. That means good teams, good players, which make a good All Star team,

The DH flat out ruins the game for 2 reasons.

it takes any kind of managerial skill out of play. I really think it was invented so that old washed up sluggers had a place to finish their careers.

the second reason is headhunting pitchers like Roger Clemens and Pedro could indiscriminately bean anyone who was tagging them up and never have to go to the plate and face any revenge for the act.

Lose the DH and the two leagues become even after 5 years...

Just for the record there are more then a few pitchers in the national league that i believe are better batters then players in regular positions.

I like the National League style of play better.

I am a fan of The American League, and think they are playing better ball.

But I really hate the DH!

That is so how baseball was NOT meant to be played.

And domed stadiums get on my nerves too!

American League has at least 6 teams better than the Mets who happen to be the National Leagues top rated team.

Yankees, White Sox, Red Sox, Blue Jays, Twins, A's are better.

The DH is a joke. If you are solely asking a question which league plays the true meaning of Baseball then of course it's the N.L.
Look in Websters definition of Baseball and it will tell you "9" players, playing "9" players. Your definition of "Playing" may differ from mine, my opinion is that the players playing defense should be the ones playing offense (batting). 10 on 10 to me is Softball.
A.L. managers have the upper hand knowing that the 9th batter (for the most part) isn't a guaranteed out unlike the N.L. (again, for the most part) and don't have to imply the strategies as like their N.L. counter parts.
If you are asking which League DOMINATES .... well of course it's the A.L. For the same reasons above.
One man's opinion.

I think this is a matter of preference rather than which is better.

I prefer the National League. Pitchers should have to bat. I hate the designated hitter rule. I think that there's much more strategy and managerial decisions in the National League. I like to watch the two teams managers try and outmaneuver each other.
