Hiddink coached Korea back in 2002 and when he started coaching Australia, the Socceroos were getting good results.

Well we were/are proud of their achievements. They were great for a nation just finding their feet on the International stage. We just hope that whomever takes over Guus's role with the team can encourage the same level of play and improvement as he did. We are sure gonna miss him...he was an adopted Aussie to us.

Australia gave everyone, I believe, something to talk about!! They were one of the surprises of the tournament. They had bad luck (bad call) in the end, but nevertheless, I think Guus did an incredible job with the Socceroos. They all just piece and "gel" together so well as a team and work great with each other! I expect to see even better things in their future!!

Australia were awesome, but I wouldn't go as far as saying that they gave Italy and Brazil a scare...whoever thinks that obviously doesn't know much about soccer. They played very good soccer but they still need more experience.

Australia was awesome. They gave Brasil (and Italia!) a good scare. I was very impressed with their football.
