The basic institution of America has been the same since the revolution. Idealisms such as terrorism have been used since the war with Latin America as a whole back in the early 1900's. To suppress any thought of outrage by the public for going to war, the government deemed all whom fought against the U.S. as terrorists and then would call the act of war as "fighting for freedom". In the end the US occupied several nations and pushed for its own capitalist needs. Even today we hold a tight grasp on many of their economies. So, in essence, it is the need to be seen as good that clouds the minds of Americans and they tend to have a low tolerance for history (as with the European empires declaring the world domination as "spreading the word of Christ").

How is it that you lump all US residents together? See, we KNOW that Dubya's a fascist, but then, so are a large number of our residents. Fortunately, every four years or so, we get to vote to see if we'll be fascist invaders or friendly helpers for the next cycle. Our job on the planet is like the job of the leopard in the jungle ... to keep you lesser nations nervous and guessing what our next move will be. After all, the next president might not be a psychopathic tool of the corporations.

Read the book 1984 and see the similarities? Yeah, very vague and stretched similarities. This is ludicrous, do you people even know what fascism is? Clearly you don't, because you can sit hear complaining about it, if it was fascist, the government would take your IP address, go to your house, and (rightfully so) do away with you and the stupidity you bring to this world. Get a clue kids, you don't know what fascism is. This country is far more free than it should even be, people are too stupid to run their own government, they must be lead. Unfortunately, you're even too stupid to select someone to lead you properly...

It is a shame that you would believe that we live under a fascist regime. I'm sure the people who have lived under a fascist government would LOVE to live here.
You probably have no idea what that word means. How about doing some research into what fascism REALLY is?

We are governed by the rich and powerful, as it always has been, and always will be. Mussolini was a fascist. Bush was elected(well sort of ).A two party system guarantees that those in power will stay in power, no matter which party wins.

I see some leanings in that direction although I don't think we are there yet. But the grandaddy of all Fascist leaders is coming soon--the anti-christ--and the USA is simply being primed to receive him.

That is pretty radical.
Americans are probably like most other people.
Only a small portion of us has anything to say about the government. Give us a break!

How is it that some Americans claim they live in an oppressed nation, while obviously enjoying and exercising freedom of speech?
