Our church uses a baptismal pool. I haven't seen a river baptism since I was a teenager some 20 years ago.

Depends on the denomination and the location. I can tell you in Appalacha, some still get baptised in the local river. (I prefer the baptismal font at Church considering the industrial pollution in too many of the rivers.)

Not often, though I'm sure some are. Often times, though, they are performed in a special Baptism pool installed at some churches, other churches either sprinkle water on someone or wipe water on someone's forehead.

Yes, often in places where a church doesn't have an indoor baptismal. Lakes can also be used. Pretty much any hole with water can be used.

Ever since I joined, the "Foursquare Churches", oh about, 12, years ago, they do "Babtisms" on the stages.........I got "Babtised" with my boys, at one, in Bullhead City, Az., about 10 years, ago, and my daughter got Babtised, here in Kingman, about, 3, years , ago, both at "Foursquare" Churches.....The stage, opens up, to a Jacuzzi, with steps, type of thing!!! Its so cool, and everyone, that wants to participate, even if their not getting babtised, but, just want to be in agreement, during the prayer times, they can!! Its a totally comfortable invironment!! My first husband was "Babtised" in the Lake, up in Groveland , Ca. With our good friend, and that was In a tiny resort community, we lived in called: Pine Mountain Lake.........Really cool, too!!! We all had a barbecue, it was a Beautiful Day, for a babtism, and fellowshipping!! Half of us New Moms kept making trips, to the bathroom together, to nurse our babies, in private!! It was a real nice fellowship time, for all of us! I actually miss those days!! Thanx, for the "Flashback!!" Smile!!!

sometimes, but usually they are done in church behind the pulpit. Many Baptist churches have a small area behind the pulpit where water can be filled up to the top of a plexiglass section so all spectators can view the immersion.

I would think so! I heard that some churches wait until wintertime to have baptism services to see if those who desire to be baptisted really mean it !

In the Baptist and Methodist Church , (there are lots more but those are the two I can name right now) they baptise around the age of Eight in rivers , but in the Catholic Church(again, there are lots more but that's the only one I can name right now) they baptise in churches when they are little babies.
