What would you have wanted your parents to teach you that they didn't?

I wanted my dad to teach me to play basketball. He didnt because he would rather play with my boy cousins. He wanted a son, but just because Im a girl doesnt mean I cant play. So I learned to play in school and got really good,. Then I played a tough game with my dad, and won. A sweet revenge that was!

Children learn from example...my examples were:
an alcoholic father who loved us, but due to the alcohol, was in his own world.And then died years later at 63. My mother was
bi-polar and a paranoid schizophrenic. In and out of mental hospitals most of my childhood. When she was out she was manic and physically abusive. She died last year at 65. My dad had remarried and my step mother was/is verbally & emotionally abusive. She has never changed.
So to answer your question: I would have loved to have been taught/shown how to love, be loved,to feel safe, to have self-esteem, or even how to enjoy life as a child without fear.
A wish I wish for all children.

About sex and teenage pregnancy.My mother is deceased but sex was a word that no one could even mention in the house.She didn't tell me about it or about the cycle that we get when we are able to get pregnant.I don't blame her for getting pregnant at 17 when i lost my virginity.Wish she would've told me that i should wait even longer or even birth control.My dad wasn't around so i just wish that she wouldv'e been more open about discussing sex,pregnancy things like that.

Well mah parents like never told me anything about growing up and things like that and sex and things.. So I had to learn it all from mah friends.. :(

THEY DIDNT TEACH THAT GUYS ARE JERKS AND THEY WILL SAY ANYTHING TO GET WHAT THEY WANT FROM YOU.
OR THAT IM OK WITH JUST MYSELF. I DONT NEED SOMEONE TO HAVE A FULL LIFE.
