If you really need one get an ipod video about $300.
If you want to scroll through different sections and look at pictures get an ipod Nano about $150.
If you only want to listen to few songs in a random way with no screen get an ipod Shuffle about $100

Check out CNET reviews at CNET.com. I bought DD & SIL each one for Christmas. I bought the top rated one at WalMart at the last minute. The ultra fancy model from Best Buy didn't last two months. (I was very embarrassed to discover I hadn't bought the same device for each.) Anyway, the one from WalMart was the one rated their best and it has held up fine.
I usually find CNET to be very accurate in their reviews. I think one bluetooth headset is the only thing I found them wrong about over the years.

You should get the Creative Zen Micro Photo 4gb Player, I have one and I LOVE IT !!!

Don't get any yet - they are all still crap. Give it at least a year and save your $$. The price will come down and the technology will be better.

get the one that looks the coolest and have the most megbytes or gigs (gigs are better)
