Ok so he said some stupid things...but what really bothers me is his lack of respect for the police...after all he was stopped twice before for reckless driving and got off with a warning, so why was he so mean to those officers?

I think he like so many other celebrities have let it go to their head that they can do anything because they have money and it will be just a slap on the wrist for them which is basically all that happens, but let it be me or you and all hell would be leashed upon us. Look at the other celebrities that have gotten off cause they have money. For gods sake Michael Jackson is a pedofile and still free. Money talks in hollywood

No, Mel Gibson is not a jerk. He is as human as we all are. Do you think you are perfect? Do you consider yourself sinless? Everyone who is a human is a sinner.
Yes, Mel Gibson did a mistake by getting drunk and saying those things to the police officers, but he ahs appologized and has even checked into a rehabilitation center to overcome his struggles.
Mel Gibson is saved and is on the right path in spite of his mistakes, and he is going to Heaven no matter what you think and/or wish.
By the way, you are a murderer because "whoever hataes someone from their heart has comiited murder" - Jesus Christ, and by asking such a question you have murdered, which makes you a murderer. Repent or perish.

He was drunk. That is what drunks do. Shoot off with the mouth and regret it later.
The media plays it every 15 minutes. It is getting old fast.
I am sure there were other drunks that caused accidents but since they are not a celebrity it doesn't get shown.
Everyone makes mistakes and he has owned up to it and apologized.
Hopefully some good will come out of it.

drunk people are more likely to act like a jerk than normal sane people.it doesn't excuse his behavior but maybe they should've called for back up to detain mel.i'd like to see the dashboard camera that probably captured the incident on tape;)
