In descending order (as suits the subject matter):
7. P J Proby, 'I Apologise'. This guy CANNOT sing. I'll just repeat that, 'CANNOT sing'. Hearing him strain for the notes accompanying the lyrics 'believe meeeeee!!!' makes you realise life is not all fun.
6. 'Danny Boy' sung by anybody. Why is this dirge about (I think) a mother telling her son that when he comes back from war she might be dead so popular? Absolute shash.
5. Father Abraham and The Smurfs, 'The Smurf Song'. Just who was this junk supposed to appeal to? Kids felt superior to it, adults hated the smug bearded nonce. 'Where are you all coming from?' Don't know, but go back there. And stay.
4. Pet Shop Boys, 'Where The Streets Have No Name/Can't Take My Eyes Off You'. A cheap disco mash-up of two great songs that does service to neither. I have everything the Boys ever made, but this is the one and only track I never play.
3. Clive Dunn, 'Grandad'. My grandad passed on a long time ago, but professed that he liked this patronising crap. I think he must have been joking. How long did it take to write? A coffee break? or just while they were putting the sugar in? 'Lovely...that's what we all think of you'...if you leave us any money, that is.
2. Black Lace, 'Agadoo'. Come on, who still does the dance? Who knows the words? (not difficult). Why is it inflicted on every disco after everybody's had too much to drink? or is that self-explanatory? It's moronic. That's all we need to know.
1. The all-time worst song ever: it has to be Ricky Valance's 'Tell Laura I Love Her'. I despise death records in general as a cynical way of making money from a tragic event, but this must be the worst. Is it the drekky angel choir when the song turns to recounting the actual death? Is it the god-awful lyrics ('As they pulled his body from the twisted wreck')? Is it the trumped up premise of the idiot entering a stock-car race knowing it's dangerous?? Don't know, don't care, just don't play this crud when I'm around. Please.

That stupid green bird Orval song, I wish I could fly, god that so bugs me and makes me cringe, I went to a do with my husbands family but felt so ill all night with a bad migraine, this guy comes on stage and says we have a different guest to the one planned, this guy comes out with a green Orval and starts singing that stupid song, I wish I could fly, I turned to tell my sister in law I felt sick and before I could say it I was sick and all over her and she had a new silk dress on that cost a fortune, so needless to say every time I hear that song now I cringe and chuck my shoe at the radio.

the hip-hop song feat. Tim McGraw...Over 'n Over again....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH it was constintly on the "punk rock" stations for like 2 months straight. and people would sing it on the bus, or in the halls at school, or turn the volume on their ipod up so EVERYONE could hear it. the teachers didn't really care, they liked the song, put the song is very repetitive, and it's just not a good song....PLUS it gets stuck in your head SOOOO esaily
