Why do people think that it's weird that I name my pets with human names?
Does anyone else name their pets with human names simply because it suits the animal?
I thought Giovanni was a cool name for my hamster and it matched him (R.I.P.). And so does 'Steven' for my cat.

That isn't strange at all.. A lot of my animals have human names... Fiona (my poodle) Keira (Shepard Mix) Leo and Cole (Chih/Dach mixes) Penny (my mouse) Noel and Bo (my fish).
I also have animals with names that arent human type names- Falcon (Maltese) Jypsy (chow/lab mix) Lady (dachshund) Houdini (mouse) Secret (hamster) Peaches (cockatiel) Illusion (hamster)

I much prefer human names for pets that stupid things. My dog is Willow (yes that is a person's name and not just a tree). My cats are Mandy and Star (yes I know a person named Star too).
I once had a cat named Target, now that is a stupid name but I didn't name it. It belonged to a friend's daughter and when they moved and couldn't take it with them I said I'd take it since I already had 5 other cats then and one more wouldn't matter.

That is not strange. I have a squirrel named Hank. Hank is a girl. I have a hamster named Mouse, and a kitty named LiMing (siamese) and a new kitty coming this weekend named Harry, Jr.

I know alot of people name their pets human names.......the one I have seen the most is Sasha

It's not weird because, there are your pet and you can doing any thing because they are yours! And you can call them what ever you want to. :)
