I had a survey done on my property and in one corner that is concrete the surveyor placed a mark on the ground and wrote
" |x| Inset from corner ". Does that mean the mark is inset 10 inches from corner?

no that marks the spot where the treasure is buried . get a shovel and dig . you will find a rod that is the marker or one corner of your lot ...treasure this spot !! do not move the rod.......

sounds to me that ur concrete is on or over the line, and he couldnt drive a metal stake there so he move it over......we see alot of those when a tree is right on the line

Just call the surveyor and ask him to explain it, he is the one who knows best!!!
