Kelly Clarkson... for vocal style, versatility (she sings Rock, Jazz, Pop, R&B, Opera, and Country), and range... her range is just short of Mariah Carey's range. Her performances are also what make her a great singer...she feels the music - sings from her soul (like gospel singers do) and that ends up giving you chills. She's an amazing performer who is STILL way too underrated.

I hear these women have beautiful voices on the radio, but when you see them perform live on VH1 or MTV, they either sound awful or they use a "backing track". I think that Amy Lee has a pretty singing voice, but if only her music was good, then I would say she was the best. She has the potential, but not the lyric writing skills.
