depends on the baby. Typically, once they get old enough to play, they find other things to occupy their time. The crying decreases. Generally, 9 months???

Ahhh.. I see. Are you tired of the crying?? I can sympathize. It's hard, especially if this is your first child. Babies start to cry less after about a year. Remember that babies cry every day. Even when they get to be a toddler. It's their way of expressing what they want. Hungry, cold, dirty diaper, want attention. Just try to accept it and see if you can do anything to help him or her. They don't cry to annoy you, only to get help in some way. Remember that you did the same thing when you were a baby. Love your child and spend as much time as possible. They grow up all too soon and in a few years you'll wonder how it could've gone by so fast.

Are you kidding me? My husband is going to be 29 this year, and STILL whines constantly.

Heh, OK seriously...it depends why the baby is crying. If it's colic, that usually subsides somewhere around 3 months in MOST cases. Shortly after that, your baby will most likely begin teething, so the crying/whining starts all over again, but not nearly as horrible as a colicky screaming fit.

I found with my two boys, that they really stopped crying/whining/fussing when they had all their teeth and were able to crawl and get around more. They wouldn't have to sit there and cry for me to pick them up or get a toy for them...they could just go get it themselves. Usually around 10 months or so.

If it cries too much before 4 months it may be colic. Gas can really hurt tiny babies and they don't know what it is and they are probably scared on top of it and need lots of comforting. After the 4 month mark it becomes teething time and that hurts also.
Babies do NOT cry for no reason, so you may need to play detective and discover the reason.

First of all--Never! Crying turns into whining, fit throwing, breaking things, hating you, and eventually moving out. Get used to it, it never stops, they are children. Secondly, your child is crying for a reason. Hungry, tired, pain, dirty, lonely, ect. Find the solution. Contact your doctor, enjoy your time w/ them while they are young.

Dude, that totally depends on the baby...
Some babies cry forever. (You know people like that, right?) Some babies are more easy -going. Babies cry. If it frustrates you, don't ever allow yourself to be alone with a baby, please.
