You should be going every 6 months for mammogram and ultrasound. You might even ask to have needle aspiration to get rid of the fluid in the cysts. It will make things better for you. Press for this with your doctor. If he doesn't want to do the mammogram and ultrasound regularly then get a new doctor until you find one that will. Because of the potential for breast cancer in your family, it's important for you to keep up with this and be assertive.

Because of the family history you should go to a specialist like a breast surgeon. I have one that has her own ultrasound machine in her office and can easily check cysts and also perform biopsies at routine appointments. She usually recommends yearly mammograms and 6 month exams for her high risk patients. You may need a referral from a regular physician to meet insurance requirements - but it is wise to see a specialist.
Hopefully you have a specialist in your area - it is just not possible for regular docs to know everything about everythng.

If you stop eating every thing that has caffeine in it you will notice a big change. Stop drinking regular coffee, cokes or other drinks like them, and even chocolate. But,if your family has a history of breast cancer you should go fairly often, but try the no caffeine thing.

I feel for you - I had a friend with this problem.
Seems that your Dr would be your best source of info, not the folks here at Yahoo. Best wishes to you; it's a difficult thing to live/deal with.
