I was excited when I first heard of this movie because I am a huge Nascar fan. After seeing the previews, I see that it depicts Nascar fans and drivers as stupid and uneducated. There are some fans at the track that are not dressed in as little as possible. There are also some there who have all their teeth. There has been a stereotyping for this sport for as long as I can remember and I think all true nascar fans should boycott this movie.

You expect truth from a Hollywood movie? And anything other than stereotypes? [Of course, documentaries are the exception.]

I don't plan on seeing the movie because I am not a NASCAR fan. Plus, I don't go to movies aimed at a moron's level of intelligence. So I guess we are on the same page that the movie is probably a waste of money.

Will Ferrell is hilarious. For him to make fun of Nascar is a huge thing. I'm a huge Nascar fan and I'm not upset at all of how he portrays a nascar driver. Don't take it so serious the movie is going to be awesome, I bet if you watch it you will love it. Any time someone doesn't like something the first thing they think to do is to boycott it. Look at Dukes of Hazard everyone wanted to boycott that too and it was a very good movie. So I believe that stereotyping will always be part of nascar.

In terms of being "upset," I have to go along with the idea that it is only a movie...and a Will Ferrell comedy at that. Virtually all Will Ferrell comedies are exaggerated portraits of characters. I mean, really...think about "Elf" or "Anchorman" to name a couple.

However, you do realize that NASCAR cooperated with this film and actually endorses it? So, if you're going to be upset with Ferrell or the director (Adam McKay), then you should be boycotting NASCAR for making fun of their own fans.

I would urge you to not pre-judge a film based upon a two-minute trailer. Is it a light-hearted look at NASCAR? Of course, it's a comedy. Is it intentionally poking fun at racing fans? I seriously doubt it.

Wow, you were disappointed by a Nascar movie starring Will Farrell.

Go figure.

Nascar fans think 'boycott' is a small male bed.

Seriously, that is what comedy is. Look at The Wedding Signer, they are playing off of the stereotypes, because that is what comedy does. It makes fun of the obvious.

NASCAR is an event that I really do not understand the draw. Its cars driving in a circle for hours on end. Boring. They should make it five laps and have the pit crew be people that have to try to run in front of the other cars without getting hit. make it interesting.

NASCAR - For people who like to watch cars go nowhere!

No I am not upset, it brings more potential fans to Nascar by playing at the foibles of the car racing league.

Any movie with Will Farrell as the lead is not 100% factual (i.e. Elf)

Haha, laugh it off!

I have three words for you: MOVIE and WILL FERRELL. That should have been your first clue that this movie wasn't going to be something to take seriously.

That's what makes comedy what it is-- it makes fun of everything, including stereotypes. It's like, the inverse of stereotypes... it's the way Hollywood works-- they create stereotypes, then make billions by making fun of the very thing they created.

Laugh it off, and be glad that it isn't ACTUALLY the way they depict it in the movie.

wait a min... do you meant that by saying "some fans at the track that are not dressed in as little as possible" .. this mean they should be going around almost nude?

and

"there are also some there who have all their teeth" doesnt that mean that you feel that they should not have teeth.

your very strange.
