Your question is much too vague. Obesity is a HUGE topic. Knowing what aspects of obesity you want to study will answer some of your questions. Do you want to do a short term one shot study? Or a long term study? Or a series of studies? Do you want to look at the relationship between overeating and exercising? How about between TV watching and weight gain? How about pet ownership and obesity?
Decide exactly what you want to study and then repost the question. I think you'll get more quality answers.
