My boyfriend left for a month to work at a summer camp. Before he left he asked if I'd be his wife (he asks me this constantly actually). He asked me if I should be w/him when he got my ring so I could pick it out, I said yes because I already have it picked out. He got back from camp on saturday and said "I should tell my parents about proposing to you, maybe they'll give me $ for it" and he laughed. The day after he went to his parents and that night in bed instead of talking about engagement he said "I have so many things to figure out, work and school and I'm so stressed".

His parents got to him I know. Should I ask what they said although he hasn't brought it up? It's abrupt to not hear about engagement anymore.

*He's 23 and I'm 21 and have been dating/living together for 2 years.

If he wanted to tell them because they would have money to help it doesn't sound like he in the right position to marry you. He needs a steady job, a trade and or higher education.
Marriage needs to be a stable thing, which not many people have. Your so young, and if he has to think because of his parents, how independant is he from them?

yes id ask him cuz if you dont its gunna bother you and that could cause tension between you two. They prolly told him he needed to finish school and got finacially stable b4 he thought of marriage. Cuz usually when ppl get married kids come and they dont get a chance to better themselves. So ask and dont get to bent outta shape bout what they told him

yes, you should talk to him about it.

if his family didnt approve or said something that is causeing him to doubt the two of yous decision. it needs to be talked about and worked out.

also, remember your marring him not his family. dont let what they say get to you to much.

dont wait or let this issue go.

i wish the both of you many more happy years togther.

You guys are still young. Take things one at a time. Don't rush things.

you should definitely ask him. you won't be out of line if you did. engagement is a big deal. it's probably still on his mind to whether he expresses it or not.
