I have lots of school projects that i use my computer 4. I was wondering which computer would be best for making documentaries, design covers, power points, stuff like that. And is Mac compatible when it comes to like hooking them up to overhead projectors and dvd/vcr's. Thanx!

With all due respect to my fellow Windows users, there is no reason to believe that just because there is a higher number of software titles for Windows that there is any lack of software to do just about everything you can on a PC with a Mac and maybe even better and more reliably.

No special hardware is needed to hook up a Mac to a projector (works right out of the box and comes with an adapter).

If you want to make documentaries, all new Macs come with iMovie, iDVD and iPhoto which are easy and fun to use and give fantastic, professional-looking results.

Microsoft makes a version of Office for the Mac, so you can access, edit and save Word, PowerPoint and Excel docs on the fly. You can also opt for the free Mac version of OpenOffice which is compatible with Microsoft docs.

Plus, the Mac looks great, is user-friendly and is just fun to use. It's just hands-down the best computer you can get for your money. You won't regret it.

And no, I don't work for Apple.

if you're doing power points, you might as well use a pc. and yes, macs can hook up to projectors, and dvd players, vcrs, ect, as long as you have the right hardware installed. but i'd say macs are better for design covers. you might be interested in getting an intel mac mini. they can run OS X and windows.

Ultimately your better off getting a PC, most of the hardware and software that is sold in the market is made for PC's, not Macs. So you have a much better chance of being compatible with the things that you need when buying a PC then with a MAC.
