42 of course. Douglas Adams knows all about it.
Just ask him.

The meaning of Life has been something everyone has asked, what is the answer I think that God gave life. The meaning of life perhaps can be looked at what you are doing in your life positively. What journey you have taken to get to where you came from. The meaning of life can be only answered like this it is a privilege to be living to experience birth; death; love; compassion and good work. It can also mean having a great family and in the end being happy with what you have accomplised, and first and foremost loving God and all his creations. Because this world is a beautiful thing.

The meaning of life is subjective. What i would consider to be the meaning of life will indubitably be different to what you or anyone else considers to be the meaning of life. The most obvious answer here would be "procreation", although that would mean once we've reproduced we could just shuffle off this mortal coil so im not going to go for that answer. To entertain the philosophical, id say the meaning of life is to not have any regrets. Treat others how you want to be treated, follow your heart, chase the rainbow, and grab every opportunity given to you.

The meaning of life is found in an understanding of your soul. For the soul is the sum product of your life. Everything you do affects you soul, everything you say, every thought that enters your brain. Everything. So be careful of what you put in your head.
Meaning is found in the proper care and nurturing of the soul. Seek knowledge. Practice love. Relish everything in the world that is beautiful. Find beauty in everything and everyone. Then you will become an enlightened one.
That is all you need to know in the world, that is all there is to know. Enjoy the ride.

it can't be any clearer than this:
(Ecclesiastes 12:13-14) . . .The conclusion of the matter, everything having been heard, is: Fear the [true] God and keep his commandments. For this is the whole [obligation] of man.  For the [true] God himself will bring every sort of work into the judgment in relation to every hidden thing, as to whether it is good or bad.

Life (the cereal, i think) is to eat
Life (the game) is to play and be the best you can
Life (the existing of life) is to exist and be the best you can to others
Basically, it can be twisted by religion so I won't get into it.

To do the best you can with what you have to work with. Without hurting anyone else in the process if possible.
try to find something good in everything that seems bad. It will always get better. If you believe it will.
