It used to be three years after you moved in but I thought I heard something about all this being changed?

They stopped building new Council Houses a least 10 years ago. You had to be a living long term in a Council House before you could be considered to buy one - some of the people I know had already been living in their council houses for at least 20 years.

A lot of the Councils are handing over their stocks of houses, flats and bungalows over to an outside organisation to manage. My Gran was living in a Council Owned Bungalow, and the Council transferred everything over to another organisation, so my Gran had to pay her rent to them instead of the Council.
