the power was out at the vet so they couldn't take an xray (i know i know it's just a hamster) they gave her a steroid shot as an anti inflammatory and if it work i bring her back for another one. my question is has anyone else had a hamster that started having trouble getting their back legs to work properly? what was the diagnosis?

It may have been a stroke or injury from falling. If that is the case, there may not be anything they can do for the little guy, but give the steroid shot a chance to work just in case that helps out. The only paralysis I encountered with my hamsters was one who injured herself trying to escape from her cage and ended up hurting her back. In the end, the only thing we could do in that situation was have her put to sleep.
