I want totally free sheet music. Not just a one page preview. I dont want sheet music that you have to download either. Does anybody know any good ones?

Assuming the piano is your instrument, here are the best locations I know of:

www.sheetmusicarchive.net
www.pianopublicdomain.com
www.8notes.com

The first two are primarily classical, the latter a mix of several genres. The sheetmusicarchive is limited to two "downloads" (i.e. accesses) per day. The files are in PDF format, so they could take some time to load if you have dial-up.

You can get some free music, mostly tunes that have lapsed in publishing... I mean really old tunes. But most music is actually protected by copyright... and well it should be. If everyone could get it for free, why would anyone want to write music?

I don't doubt there are places that will pirate this stuff, but listen up closely: If you love music, you should respect the people that write and perform it. Trust me, it has gotten harder and harder for musicians to make a living. Sure a few guys make millions, but what was once a thriving industry has all but vanished.

Why should you expect to get everything for free?

Would you work for free?

A little perspective might save music from becoming extinct.

If you check out google.com and type in "free sheet music," or "sheet music"you'll come up with a list of possible optional websites. You can either copy and paste on a Word Doc. or print out the web page.

Enjoy!

There are quite a few sites on the web for this. Type in "free sheet music" on your web browser and the sites will be listed. When you find the music you want, copy and paste the selection to your word program.

Try searching for "tabluture" or just tabs. It gives chords. Some of the lryics (copywright) and some lead riffs. Sorry you will have to comb the net but a few good sites have literally TONS of stuff.
