If he really is gay, maybe he didn't feel like exposing that fact because he didn't want a whole crowd of gay men chasing him whenever he has a match to play in. It would be a pretty annoying distraction to cope with.

Well I do not know if he is or not and to me it is not important. Players sexual preferences and private lives have nothing to do with the performances they give us on the pitch. And on pitch performances are what I am interested in. Of course, if he is, then "coming out" when, how or if , is his personal decision. It's his life that will be effected, not ours. It doesn't change the type of person he is whether he be straight or gay.
