Try using a cd-r, I had the same problem with cd-rw's, when I switched it worked fine, the big thing is how the file is burned and the cd itself as well.

Many cd-rw's are not playable in old car stereos. Burn it to a CD-r and it should work.

Is your car stereo "Red Book Compliant" AND CD-RW able!
It must be older!

When you make the CD you are given the option to record it in such a way that it may be read in any CD player. Apparently this option was not chosen when it was written.

Just check your Stereo us CD-R/CD-RW compatible.

Probably because your CD player is old. You have to have one that is CD-R/CD-RW compatible. Most models sold today are compliant.

Because you can't. It is not designed for that.

Get what I got. An after-market CD/MP3 player AM/FM stereo, with MP3 aux imputs.

not all CD players can play CD-RW
