When you're 16, your skin is more flexible and likely to go with your weight loss. I lost 60 pounds when I was 18 and never had to worry about flabby skin. You just need to work on toning. I started playing Volleyball getting friends together to exercise so I wasnt doing it alone. Good Luck!!!

a not obese person does not need to lose 50 pounds! either you dont need to lose as much weight as you think you do or you are obese. anyway, your are young so the skin probably wont be flabby.
right now my favorite exercise is swimming. its fun, easy and you wont get as many injuries because it is low impact .
talk to a doc to find your ideal weight and some suggestions on exercise and good luck

If you are not already obese - if you are thin, you will prob not have excess skin, but 40 pounds is a lot of weight, and looking at you, it will seem like a major difference, no matter how heavy you were before losing it.

a 16 year old girl has enough dexterity and elastin in her skin to where if she lost 40lbs her skin would just lay flat and not sag..
there are many ways to have fun exercising..
if walking or running isn't your thing, you might want to try water aerobics or swimming, with swimming you loose weight and tone muscle quite quickly...
belly dancing is a great way to loose weight, it's all about core (torso) strength and great for women considering that the lower abdominal muscles are a big trouble spot..
martial arts is perfect for a teenage girl.. it is not only a great workout but it gives you great self defense skills that can save your life and confidence and dicipline.. i recommend combative kickboxing or boxing, you'll learn how to defend yourself, it's an amazing aerobic workout and with the contact to the bags and pads you're getting an anerobic workout (you're strengthening your muscles)!!!!!!!
if working out isn't your thing, join a sport.. there are city leagues, ywca leagues, etc.. volleyball, basketball, baseball, soccer, they're all great form of exercise and loads of fun!!!
oh and for the less informed persons out there... you can not technically define a person as obese unless they are 50+ lbs over their recommend weight for their height, check out the website below to see where you stand: http://www.recipehound.com/weight.html
good luck hun!!!!

no, you will not have loose flabby skin. since you are young, your skin has a lot of elasticity, and so your skin will snap back into place. lol. i personally love to dance for exercise, because it tones your whole body at one time. also, hiking and swimming are fun and great work.

Wow. Lose weight by running, swimming, and different cardio. I'm pretty sure you don't need to just tone up if you need to lose like 40lbs. Also don't eat more than you can't burn off.

if you lost it over time you wouldnt have to worry about it, make sure you change your diet and eat heatlthy and your body will naturally firm up. becasue you are young the growth of new skin cells still occurs.
