Call the police and report the assault. I would then report the assault to company officials (management, HR, etc.) The company is required to pay for any medical costs and you can bet that I would go to a clinic or doctor to get looked at. This is true even if the wound isn't bad because it provides documentation. I would then demand that the person who assaulted me not be allowed back into the office for my safety. I would probably sue the person in small claims court too for the assault. This would be done more to show that it is not OK to ever touch me in that manner.

Assault! She could press charges. To make sure the woman can't do this again to her or other people, have a doctor detail the extent of the injury, then show that document to her boss and the courts and the police.
No one should be allowed in a public environment if they are going to treat people like that. Your friend has every right to see that she gets her due!

Kick her butt up one side of the street and down the other.
But seriously she needs to go to the human resources department and file a complaint. No matter if it was just the once or not, it always starts somewhere and it could get worse for everyone there.

That sounds like an Assualt and an unprovolked attack. She needs to tell her supervisor as well. She should photograph the arm, bruises, what have you. She can also press charges via the police if she wants to.

She should file an assault charge. Take pictures of the scratches. She can sue her for damages also.

report it to the police, this way if she does anything again there is record of it. Make sure the police are aware, if she seriously injures your friend she can sue her or have her fired or arrested.Or all three.
