Depends on what state your in, I'll try and find a legal age of consent list for ya, one sec..
http://www.avert.org/aofconsent.htm
You might actually need to contact your local law enforcement agency for information on the type of punishment you boyfriend, can and (most likely) receive, but here is a link anyway.

If your OVER the age of consent, then **** no she couldn't do anything, the case wouldn't even go to court and if it did it would automatically get thrown out. feel free to have your baby and ruin your life.
/Sigh...just the fact that you have to ask

It all depends on the local laws. Even though the legal age of consent is 16 in MOST(not all) states,in some places if the other person is 4 or more years older than the consenting minor it could still be considered statutory rape. You will have to research the laws for your state. Even though your Mom seems ok with it right now, if the 2 of you upset her, or he does anything she doesn't like, it is very possible that she could change her mind and press charges even without you getting pregnant.
I would do some searches online for the statutory rape laws for your city and state and see what you can come find out. Don't call any city offices or it will raise a very big red flag.
And for crying out loud.. make sure to get on some birth control and use condoms to avoid the need to worry about this so much!
Good Luck!

No nothing will happen if the age of consent is 16. You can marry if your state allows it if a child is involved. To many people answering these posts are ignorant and automatically assume 16 yr olds can not consent. Even in sates with ages over 16 for consent unless the guy is much older they do not persue it. In any case they need the person that is youngers cooperation, if they do not have it nothing happens. Exception would be a baby involved even then they will try to keep you and your significant other together as a family. It does no good to take a childs father out og the picture if he's willing to do whats needed.

Yes, you are four years apart and under eighteen. Because you are a minor, he would face a minimum of five years in prison with "Bubba the Wonder-lover" and not much use to you afterward and he would be at least a level two sex-offender on the required new "Adam Walsh" sex offender registration law--possibly a level 3 and required to register at the County Sheriff's every 90 days or face another 5 years in prison for failing to register.
Sex offenders are raped, beaten, prostituted and (killed not likely in your case) in prison. THey are the lowest of the low and are treated accordingly.
In the State of Ohio where I live, 13 was the age of consent if the partners were not more than 24 months apart/neither person was under 12, and the partner was not over 16. But Federal pressure and sex offender frenzy has put pressure on States to conform to 18 years old.

Local laws will need to be known for an answer. The best advice in general is for a sixteen year old to NOT be sexually active. The marriage thing doesn't matter. If you are married WHEN you become pregnant, then you are regarded as though you were not a minor because of the marriage. A married person does not have to worry about a spouse going to jail for normal marital relations.

Everything depends on the state you reside in, but you need to look at a few other issues here. It's never ideal to have a child at 16, and if you think it might be an issue, than I would recommend taking steps to ensure that it doesn't happen. Think of what the child might have to go through. Raising a child is one of the most difficult 24/7 jobs I've ever had-combine that with the growing pains of being 16, and it can get overwhelming very quickly.

So.... jailbait.... How's that workin' for ya'?
First of all, even if the age of consent is 16, if you started seeing him earlier than that, she mabie could, retroactively.
But speaking from experience: he won't stick around if you get pregnant. If you arn't worth waiting 2 years for him to marry you, then you definately arn't worth a lifetime commitment, let alone the stress, pressure and responsibility of a child.
I've seen so many of my friends get hurt. They go on to live really difficult lives. Some get married, only to get divorced. Most never marry and the babies get their maiden names. Some of them finish high school. One is about to get a college degree. (But, she's 57.) Most live with their mothers. Most don't get their child support payments. Most of them spend a lot of time trying to get disinterested fathers to take an interest in their children.
If he loves you, he'll wait. If you love him, you'll wait.
Get your education, get a job that will give you insurance and maternity leave, have a wedding where you don't need maternity clothes, and then actually get to try for a baby, when you can choose it, and bring it into a stable home and an established marriage and a financially secure house.
Life's hard enough. Don't make it harder on purpose.

Having your boyfriend put in jail is going to be one of the least of your worries if you get pregnant.
DO NO GET PREGNANT. You are too young - you think you are in paradise right now. And you are - but don't mess it up by being stupid and irresponsible. A baby is not at all what it is cracked up to be. Plus you will miss some of the best experiences in high school and maybe college.
You can never get this time in your life back - you can always have a baby.

Ok get on the pill.. and use protection, If you use both properly then you wont have to worry about getting pregnant and having a baby. If you decide you want a child but dont want him put in jail .. Be careful for a couple years..then when your 18 you can do whatever the hell u want to!

Why don't you try using a condom if your are going to be proactive sexually as well as other barrier methods, say; birth control! Put the idea to rest, if the age of consent is 16 then that's it. Also, if you do get pregnant, he'll probably leave you. Neither of you are ready to be parents.
