I used to work in an environmental lab. First do not use the water. If absolutely necessary boil it first. Get it tested for more then E. Coli. It could also be totally benign. I would get it checked to be safe. Ask a Realtor for a good laboratory. They usually know where to test water because well water has to tested before sale. I also recommend installing a UV light to kill things like that.

You should get your water tested for parasites. You would hate to get infested or have your family or pets infested because the water is bad.

Oh, Lord! Please, call the water pump technicians to get it fixed! DO NOT drink any water from your house! That would be like drinking worms, and that is not only very gross, it is also unsafe!!!
