Unless you can support yourself fully, you won't get emancipated. You have to be able to pay all of your expenses yourself. Food, clothing, and shelter, and it doesn't count if the shelter is with someone else. You have to be able to afford to live on your own, even if your boyfriend's parents want you to live with them.

What you need to do is call Child Protective Services and report the abuse. And tell your mother. Hopefully she'll do the right thing and protect you.

Good luck, honey.

I don't know about the laws in North Carolina, but in the state of Texas you have to prove to the court that you are able to support yourself. You have to have a job that pays enough for you to pay rent when you apply for emancipation. You may want to check on the laws in your state.

consult a lawyer. Most lawyers give free consultations. Go through the phone book and call them up and find one to give you a consultation. You don't owe him/her anything and you are not obligated to use them as your lawyer. Then at least you will know some of your options.
