My best friend has really messed up his life when he was younger. But now he is trying to get it together . but becouse of his crimanal background no one will hire him. I dont think it's fair that he is singled out becouse of what he has done he has 3 kids and one on the way and he is doing what he can to survive. But he does not want to live on welfare . he has a great resume and has experince in all types of things .

But becouse of his 13 felonies he can't get anywhere . i know it's a bad thing but i think he should be given a chance to prove himself . he did his time for his crime . now someone should give him a chance . dont you think.

If a rapist a child molester and a murder get a second chance why not him and he did not do none of those things.

he just has 13 felonies for retail theft . Just a big shop lifter i guess not a murder or rapist . I mean he is not trying to get a job at a store or anything just a regular factory or construction job .

what do you think?

Trust is a huge thing when it comes to any business, and 13 charges suggest that this was more than a one time thing. As for the factory or construction job, both of these places are easy to steal from, and have very expensive equipment which they can't afford to loose...It seems harsh but how did your friend expect society to react, people don't like to be wronged. If I come into your house and I take your things you're probably not going to let me back into your house right? It's the same damn thing. People make stupid decisions because they don't think far enough ahead, then they turn around and complain about how their decision is negatively impacting their life...NO!?! REALLY??? It's absolutely right what's being done, humans survive by eliminating those that cause them harm from their lives. These people are simply trying to protect themselves and their livelyhood...He'll have to earn back the trust of the people...
As far as getting a job, maybe security guard...Apply for anything that doesn't have much that can go missing.. It is an unfortunate situation, at least learn from it and ensure your kids don't make the same mistakes...That's some good.
Good Luck.

I think, wow, "13 felonies" wow.

He needs to talk to someone that offers "apprenticeships" and see if they'll give him a chance to prove himself. This is one of the best ways to good jobs. My cousin got in as an apprentice builder about 20 years ago and is making GREAT money now. Its not rocket science, but he has all kinds of jobs coming in and the work is steady. Good luck!

Please try to put yourself in an employers shoes. They don't know your friend. But they would know that he had 13 felonies! How long ago was his last one, and when did he get out of jail? 3 kids with another one on the way? Tell him to use a condom, and keep looking for a job and know that it will take a special person to take a chance on him.

well, he is shooting for a good , high paying job, that even most non-criminals can not get anymore..
He needs to start at a lower entry level job..like McDonalds..
They will hire previous felons and he does have a chance for advancement..
To get into a factory or construction, he needs to go the fast food route, and get the experience on his application/resume..
He will get his chance, but he needs to start where most everyone has to start..good luck

why is unfair to not want a thief working next to me?
How stupid are you to get involved with a moron that didnt learn the FIRST time?
NO, he blew his chance at "getting a chance" twelve convictions ago, and should still be in fricken jail.
Why should anybody follow the law if people like your boyfreind can do as he pleases and then one day say gimme a chance, especially after having kids?

You can get a job in a car wash. Become a security guard in some states. Perhaps a janitor.
