There is no difference between God and Allah. Allah is the Arabic name of God. we worship Allah ( God) who is the all-knowing and who is the creator of this whole universe.
we worship Allah alone that's the main difference between Muslims and christians. Christians believe that Jesus christ is God or the God's son and we ( Muslims) believe that God - the creator has no sons and we believe that Jesus (peace be upon him) is a prophet who was sent to deliver God's message that is to worship the creator = God = Allah. (in Arabic)
" O people of the Scripture ( christians) ! don't exceed the limits in your religion, nor say of Allah ( the Arabic name for God)aught but the truth. The Messiah Isaa (Jesus), son of Maryam ( Mary) was (no more than) a Messanger of Allah and His word, ( "Be!"- and he was) which He bestowed on Maryam ( Mary) and a spirit (Ruh) created by Him; so believe in Allah and His Messanger. Say not: "Three (trinity)!" cease ! (it is) better for you. For Allah is (the only) One Ilah (God), glorified is He (Far exalted is He) above having a son. To him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is All Sufficient as a Disposer of affairs" Qur'an Surah al Nisa Part 6 - verse
"The Messiah will never be proud to reject to be a slave of Allah
, nor the angels who are the near (to Allah)" Qur'an Surah al Nisa part 6 - verse
" O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians )! why do you mix the truth with falsehood and conceal the thruth while they know ?" Al Imran" Part 3 - verse 71
" And (remember) when the angels said "O Maryam ( Mary) ! Verily , Allah has chosen you, purified you ( from polytheism and disbelief , and chosen you above the women of the Alamin (mankind and Jinn) (of her lifetime ) ." Sural al Imran Part 3 verse 42.
(remember) when the angels said "O Maryam ( Mary) ! Verily, Allah gives you the glad tidings of a word [ "Be!" - and he was !] i.e Isa ( Jesus), the son of Maryam ( Mary )from Him, his name will be the Messiah Isa ( Jesus) , the son of Maryam(Mary), held in honour in this world and in the Hereafter, and will be one of those who are near to Allah" Surah Imran Part 3 verse 45
" He will speak to the people in the cradle and in manhood, and he will be one of the righteous." the same Surah verse 46
"she said :" O my lord ! how shall I have a son when no man has touched me." He said :" So (it will be) for Allah creates what He wills. When He has decreed something, He says to it " Be- and it is . Surah al Imran Part 3 verse 47
" And He ( Aallah) will teach him [Isa (Jesus)] the Book and Al- Hikmah (i.e the Sunnah , the faultless speech of the Prophets, wisom), and the Taurah ( Torah) and the Injeel ( Gospel). And will make him[Isa (Jesus)] a Messanger to the children of Israel (saying): " I have come to you with a sign from your lord, that I design for you out of clay, a figure like that of a bird and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah's Leave. And I inform you of what you eat, and what you store in your houses. Surely , in that is a sign for you, if you are believers. And I have come to confirm that which was before me of the Taurat ( Torah), and to make laweful to you part of what was forbidden to you, and I have come to you with a proof from your Lord. So fear Allah and obey me. Truly Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him ( Alone) This is a Straight Path. Surah Al Imran part3 verse48-49-50-51
"Then when Isa (Jesus) came to know of their disbelieve, he said: "who will be my helpers in Allah's Cause?" Al- Hawariyyun (the disciples) said: " We are the helpers of Allah, we believe in Allah and bear witness that we are Muslims (i.e we submit to Allah)." Surah Al -Imran Part 3 verse 52
"And they (disbelievers) plotted [to kill Isa (Jesus)] and Allah plotted too. And Allah is the best of those who plot. And (remember) when Allah said: " O Isa (Jesus) ! I will make you sleep and raise you to Myself and clear you [of the foged statement that Isa (Jesus) is Allah's son] of those who disbelieve "
Al Imran part 3 verse 54-55
" O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) ! why do you disbelieve in the Ayat of Allah[ the verses and Prophet Myhammed present in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] while you (yourself) bear witness (to their truth) ." Surah Al Imran Part 3 verse 70
"And verily, among them is a party who distort the Book with their tongues (as they read), so that you may think it is from the Book, but it is not from the Book, and they say: " This is from Allah", but it is not from Allah, and they speak a lie against Allah while they know it. It is not (possible) for any human being to whom Allah has given the Book and al Hukm( the knowledge and understanding of the laws of religion) and prophethood to say to the people : " Be my worshippers rather than Allah's"" Surah al Imran part 3 verse 79
" Say (O Muhammed ) "we believe in Allah and in what has been sent down to us, and what was sent down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Ismail ( Ishmael), Ishaq (Isaac), Ya'qb (Jacob) and AlAsbat [ the offspring of the twelve sons of Ya'qqub ( Jacob) and what was given to Musa (Moses), Isa (Jesus) and the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between one another among them and to him ( Allah) we have submitted ( In Islam) Surah al Imran part 3 verse 84
"Messangers as bearers of good news as well as of warning in order that mankind should have no plea against Allah agter the (coming of ) Messangers. And Allah is Ever All Powerful, All- wise." Surah al Nisa part 6 verse165
"Verilly, those who disbelieve [by concealing the truth about Prophet Muhammed and his messsage of true Islamic Monotheism written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel ( Gospel) with them] and prevent (mankind) from the Path of Allah (Islamic Monotheism); they have certainly strayed far away. "
Tafsir Al- Qurtubi) Surah Al Nisa part 6 verse 167

I can't believe people think that the "God" worshipped by Christians is the same being as the "Allah" worshipped by Muslims. Although they have many similar attributes (all powerful, all knowing, etc.), they are very different; to hear a Muslim describe his diety and then to hear a Christian describe his, you would realize that they are talking about two very different beings. The merciful, loving, self-sacrificing God of the Bible would seem like a wuss to the average Muslim. Add to the mix that Christians believe in God being a Trinity, and you will find that the similarities quickly fade. I'm sorry I don't have time to give a more complete answer, but Muslims and Christians are much more different than alike.

Thank you for asking that particular question. There is a lack of knowledge on both sides of this issue.
If you believe the Holy Bible, it states, There is only one (1) GOD.
If you believe the Koran, it states there is only one (1) ALLAH
if you believe the Torah, it sates there is only one (1) Yahweh or Jehovah.
On the other hand; as our Muslim counterpart agrees; the difference is a matter of language interpretation, If you are Spanish, there would be only one Dios; If French, one Dieux; if German one Gott, etc., etc., etc.,
If you believe the English language, there is only one (1).... "ONE." (1). And as you may well note the word "God," is only used in the English language. As is "Allah," among Arabic speaking nations. (By the way, do you know the history of Isaac, and Ishmael?)
Therefore (in answer to this question) the only difference between God and Allah is whether or not YOU believe; God is Allah, (Arabian) and Allah means, God. (Westerner) since there is only one "GOD". (Everyone)
Remember your question was in regard to the "DIFFERENCE BETWEEN" the two and not "Who was who". I added that comment because there is, a difference between God, and gods. That difference being; Since there is only ONE God, there can NOT be any "OTHER" .However there is a pronounced difference between Christians and Muslims, and believe it or not the is a definite difference betweens CHRISTians and Christians as well.
A Muslim is the follower or advocate of the Prophet Muhammed. A Christian is not (as commonly accepted) a follower or advocate of a religious order or the adherence to the teachings of Jesus, the Christ, but in reality is a designation or title: "CHRISTian" (the proper pronunciation) a person who immulates or characterizes the total personification of the person Christ Jesus. Hence the name CHRISTian or "Christ-like".
I am not "a" Christian. I; am Christian

God and Allah are the same, just different name, and Muslims take their religion more seriously than Christians, personally, as a Christian, I admire the Muslims' pious lives

More importantly you should be asking "What are the similarities between the two?" The biggest is both require you to believe in a fantasy. If either were remotely true then God would be intervening for one side or the other. But, I think he thinks the Mideast situation is so bad that he will sit this one out. Personally I don't believe any religion. But I love the Jewish tenacity in the way they deal with the Arabs. The Jews certainly show that they will fight before anyone puts them in another oven. You have to admire that.

OK the real difference is human interpretation of the word of god. people have interpreted and reinterpreted the word of god to make it more beneficial for themselves and every time there has been a shift in power people rewrite the bible so that it makes them sound good. There is one true rule of all religion and that is "do onto your neighbors as u would have them do unto you" everything else falls right into place after you can do this.

God is merciful and loving but allah isn't. You aren't certain with your salvation in Islam while it's pretty clear in Christianity.
