The easiest way to treat and prevent thrush is to eat a yoghurt every day. They must have the live bacteria in them as this is what goes to work to combat thrush. Especially for pregnant mommies, as this is far safer then any medication and is very good for baby also.

For babies tongue thrush, apply pure glycerine

You will need to treat your nipples also

For an adult, thrush in the mouth = peroxide rinse
For topical situation?
Yeast needs warmth, moisture, darkness to thrive. . .

If your baby has this, and is infecting you, I'm certain your pediatrician can advise better than Yahoo folks. . . no?

I think they make a monistat or something like that for the external area itching. Go to the drug store and if you can't find that ask the pharmacist they should be able to reccommend something.

gentian violet...try a health food store.
it's messy - turns everything purple (your nipples, baby's mouth) but it does work.

sorry to hear you have thrush, I had it too and know what a pain it is. persevere, it's worth it to keep breastfeeding.

you'll need to get an antifungal to remedy this. if the child has thrush in his/her mouth, you'll need to get the oral swish.
