You'll need photo software that has this capability. Then you can use your mouse to trace the outline of the person and click "cut" and paste it onto a new canvas.

What program are you using? Generally, you outline the area you'd like to remain in the photo and click the crop tool, but that tool is in a different place in each editting program.

If you have Microsoft Photo Editor you can select the part of the picture you want to keep and it crops the other.

I edit my pictures by using Adobe Photoshop. and its quite simple. If you get your hands on the program, ill help you out more.
