I wouldn't put it that way exactly.
After I had my baby I had 60 pounds to lose. If my husband had acted like he was rejecting me, I would have felt like he didn't really love me for who I am. But he was smart and just supported my efforts to lose weight. I did lose it all and I didn't feel like I had to do it so he would continue to love me, I felt like I was doing it for me so I didn't resent it.
Obviously you aren't as attracted to her as you used to be, so start doing little things like taking walks together. Support any effort that she makes to lose the weight. Compliment her in any way possible. Find out if she's eating because she's stressed, and if so, try to help her out.
But no, don't say " You're getting fat." You might never get any lovin' ever again!!

1) Grunt like a pig whenever you see her.
2) When she sits down, jump into the air as if the shock hurled your body upward.
3) Buy her a truck 'back-up' alarm for her birthday.
4) Leave a horse feed bag on her dinner plate.
5) Have a livestock feed store deliver 200 lbs of hay and oats to your home.
6) Buy and install a commercial grade weight scale in the bathroom.
7) Cut out your front door and install a barn door.
8) Tell her you brought her a 'snack' from the store then present her with a five lb sack of sugar and a spoon.
9) Let her find you installing steel reinforcement bars to the kitchen chairs.
10) Rent an apartment and hire a good lawyer if you are stupid enough to do ANY of the above.

Join a fitness center and ask her to come go work out with you. She's not going to go alone, and you can let her know that the both of you need to work out. She may really like it and go without you at some point.

Do you want her to tell you that you aren't exactly Mr. Universe...or ask you about that bald spot...or the hair that's starting to grow in your ears?
I'd recommend that you start going for walks in the evening together...or find some activity you can do together...like tennis..

fat is an ugly word, especially coming from your husband. Take her shopping and buy her some sexy clothes that fit her now.

You don't need to tell her. She already knows.
Lay off and go to the gym. Maybe she'll join you.
Be nice.
