Tagalog is Austronesian. Malay, Chinese, Arabic, Spanish, and Sanskrit influenced it. And English. It is probably 1,000 years old. In the late 16th century, it was recorded in the Latin alphabet. How long it has been a written language is unclear.

10%malays,10%english,3%italian,
3%arab,3%ethnic and 1%original.

Today's Filipino language is 50%tagalog and 50%english.
We call it Taglish.
