Definitely...customs can hold up such shipments Canada/US and vice versa, for up to 2 weeks. Not because they are searching it very carefully but because it may very well sit unlooked at for days after getting to that office.

Usually by air, it takes no more than 4 days but it's costly. If the sender felt that it was better to send the package ground and stay within the shipping cost you paid..they may have done it that way, however they first should have contacted you to ensure that was fine.

When I quote shipping, if I am ever in a position where shipping costs more to do it the way I state it is done, I swallow the costs...and then know better for next time thus saving myself headaches and keeping the buyer happy.

It's been seven days so far, since shipment would begin. Take 2 days off for the weekend as Canadian posties don't work Sat or Sun, and one day off for getting the package prepared and to the postal office. If by air, take 2 days for customs processing depending upon the carrier being used and you now have in actuality only 2 days of travel time so far. It may very well be in your hands within the next few days as long as it hasn't been held up at customs for any reason.

If the package has been sent by any means other than regular ground post, the sender should be able to give you tracking information...a number that can be plugged into the Canadian Postal site to see where the package is in transit. Ground post there normally isn't any way to figure out where it is and it could very well take up to 10 days to reach you.

Postal service here isn't any swifter than US's from State to State...unfortunately.

According to the Canada Post website it can take up to 10 business days for it to get to you. It does take time to get through customs. You should check the shipping info and rates before you go ahead and bid on an item.
