Once again please keep Bush Bashing comments to your self this question has nothing to do with him. I just want to know what direction you think this country is going to take in 97 days and if it is a good thing.

First of all, Ethan, it's AFFECT, not EFFECT. And, no, I don't think Democrats will have a landslide in state govts or the U.S. Congress. They've had no new ideas, and have done nothing to make things better.

It is hard to say.
The Democrats, as a party, have no real definition.

You get a bunch of mud slinging one way or the other. Bush is the face of the Republican Party. When he goes....who is there to step in? Cheyney hasn't really come out to stand on his own about much of anything.
Any alternatives would be seen as a deviation from where they're headed now. Sooner or later, Bush will need to begin grooming a replacement.
Clinton had the same problem. He was so hemmed up with the indiscretions of his office, Al Gore distanced himself from him. That, I believe, was what ultimately cost him the election. Like Cheyney, nobody knew who Gore 'Was'.... no individuality.

In the short term, I think there will be many obvious upsets. The public will make the 'statement' that the media will harp on all the way through the presidential elections.

I would be very interested to see how states like Texas and some of the more ultra-Republican states vote. People can get a bit fickle when they're in the box by themselves. I'll wager a swing of at least 10% towards the Democrats.
Who would have thought the Democrats would be the ones pushing for reduced government.

My vote is definitely heading to 3rd party. I vote my conscience, not the 'lesser of two evils'.

I can see it going to the Dem's... barely... and I think it could be a good thing personally... Republicans have gotten overconfident and are not listening to Americans anymore... they think they know best and don't care what America wants...

but it won't be an large majority, so it won't have a huge change

I've seen some good ideas from some democrats... I don't know where you guys live?

It seems like those that say "the democrats have no ideas" are only those that don't look for them and don't pay attention when they are told the ideas... in other words... the dems could have the best ideas in the world, and they wouldn't care enough to pay attention...

I am frightened that the Democrats might take over Congress. If so, we will be hurt very bad because the Democrat Party has been almost completely taken over by "hate -America- radicals".
They are full of hate and they are freaky and scary. However, if the Democrats do take over Congress, I think the American people will kick them out in a few years.

Democrats are going to win big. The country is sick of the direction we have been dragged toward. It will be good because it can't be as bad as it is now.

I sure do hope the Democrats get either the House or Senate (both would be good, too) so there can finally be some checks and balances.

I think the Republicans will keep majority in both houses, the Dems. just bash and don't have suggestions or alternatives....their ultimate downfall in the last couple of elections.
