True in a way that is largely a psychological truth rather than historical truth. What do you think?

I don't know what to tell you. You are asking if the wind exists, or if water exists. There is a school of thought that would believe that every person, every encounter, every place is a myth created in our own minds. I personally find them a little frightening. Is there mythology, of course. Is there history, naturally. Has it been changed throughout the years, no doubt. However, the simple and sad truth you seek is that you have to believe to know. You can't get an answer to a crisis of faith outside of your walk with God. Good luck.

I'd prefer more independent sources to confirm the existence of an historical Jesus, but I generally agree with you. The Bible is largely made up of fable and myth. A man named Jesus who preached a heretical version of Judaism probably did exist, though I don't believe the Christian scriptures accurately describe his views. I think his followers and later generations of Christians added to and slanted his teachings to reflect their interpretations and support their own agendas.

The Bible was the Churches way of controlling the people, like laws, and such, that's why the bible hammers home the "giving " every weekend to the Church. In The 15 th century the "church" ran the " state" and thus the bible or king James any way was truly put to use to govern the masses.

I think you may be right. They say the bible was written some 70 years after the death of jesus. This leads me to think that a lot of facts have been distorted or lost in translation. Educated people could have easily manipulated the masses back then.

The Bible is historically accurate. If you read Josephus, who was an ancient historian, he is accounts are accurate with those of the Bible. The BIble is the inspired word of God. Jesus is the son of God who came as a man, lived a sinless life and died for our sins, all who believe in him would have eternal life.

You "largely" believe that the bible is mythic. But somewhere in the back of your mind you know it could be true.

Yeah, I think in the same way. It's rather a story than a history.
By the way there's some possibility that history come from "His"-story (just a joke).

The bible and every other religious text are all a bunch of propaganda... It's all meant to control it's disciples by a select few in power.

Did you know that in the bible (Leviticus) it says that eating shellfish is bad? And it also says that chicks aren't equal to dudes (Leviticunt). And it also says that blacks are inequal to whites (Hamm). What kinda crap is that?

It's all PROPOGANDA.
