I bought two of them several years ago, one for me and one for my sister. We used ours for a couple of months, but didn't feel it made the water taste any better and so stopped. My sister loved hers and used it for years (I cannot say for sure, but she may still be using it).
It might depend on what it is in the water you are trying to filter out, it certainly didn't work for us.

Better to get the PUR faucet filter. The three stage filter is the best and the filters last for a reasonably long time depending on your usage.
