I broke out my old Nintendo. I'm stuck on Mario Brothers level 8-2. About half waty through there is a long jump. No matter what I do I can't seem to cross it. There are no cheat web sites that even have the origional Nintendo listed. Does any one remember how to get past this? I am pulling out my hair!

Well for one www.gamefaqs.com should have some info on thsi game. It has info on just about every game.
Secondly, I know it's a very difficult jump, I've found it to be naerly impossible myself. You really have to time it right, speed up with the B button, and jump at the very edge of the pit.

Been a while since I played it! Is it obvious there is a way to clear it, or are you supposed to go some other way? Did you bounce all around looking for invisible blocks you could step up on? I think there's a glitch you can use to hop up from the end, too... try looking for Mario speedruns, then you can watch others do it.

you have to do a running jump ... just as you get to the edge, at a full tilt run, you have to time it just right ... you will get enough distance to reach the other side ... be careful as a little bit further down, there will be another similar jump ... but do NOT do a running jump at that point ... a regular jump will land you on a single block, at which time another regular jump will get you over to the other side safely

go to google video and search for "Mario Time Attack". There are videos of people racing to beat Mario (it takes like 6 minutes). They'll show you how to beat the jump.

Are you holding down the B button to make him run, or the A, or whatever button it is that makes him run? You can run across small gaps and jump over the long one.

Have you tried dash jump RIGHT before the platform ends?
I've been stuck on that level too, but like only once.. =P

there are hidden things to jump on I think, I can't really remember. Or you have to jump on something, did you try getting a fast running jump?
