any word that is insulting to the opposite person & said with mal intent can be termed as rude or bad language. It does not have to be swear words but the tone of speaking also matters.

A word that offends you- doesn't necessarily have to be a typical "bad word". My dad thinks that when you use the word "man" in a slang form that it is disrespectful
