Either. both or neither. I had a ladyfriend a while back who wore a real corset (From Vollers in England, I think, or was it Axford's?) all the time except when taking a bath. She educated me on them when we got to the point of sleepovers... Her corset was more a utiliity garmet than sex toy. She had several which were custom made and were simple white linen. She simply liked wearing a corset. She said it felt like she was being hugged all over and besides, it helped her posture. She wore an "underbust" style most often, but there were times when she broke out one of the good ones to not only nip in her waist, but push up her bustline. I thought my ladyfriend was sexy from day one. Her corset did not change that at all. She never wore a corset as an outer garmet, ever, since as she put it one day, that would be trashy,.Oh, and one more thing, a REAL corset will likely have a metal busk with hooks in front and heavy laces in back. If it has hooks and eyes, it isn't a corset but rather sexy lingerie.

It's not the corset. It's the kind of corset. Lacy and nicely decorated, good fit that lifts the boobs and is cut high up the sides. Do you know what a Merry Widow is?

That can look very nice, with coordinated undies and stockings. Bare legged does not work as well with this and do not, DO NOT use panty hose. Big, big turnoff if one is trying for a sexy look.

Short story. I used to be an avid amature photograher. I saw a contest announced in a magazine and I told a female friend about it. The theme was "sexy" and was made clear that pornography was not accepted. She was intrigued, and agreed to sit for me.

Stunning outfit, and a most enjoyable photo shoot. We both spent hours in the darkroom developing the negs and making prints. Some of my best work!

Personally Corsets are nice, depending on the colours and style, as you right some can be quite tarty (possibly intentionally to suit that kind of bloke).

Had an ex that was into the whole victorian corset aproach, classic styles of course, no complains from me!
