Never make someone a priority when they only make you an option. - (Don't know who said this but I like it.)
This reminds me to not waste my time on people who aren't as concerned about me as I am of them.

" Life is but a walking shadow; a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more. It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."
William Shakespeare.
I like it because it reminds me that life, no matter how great and wonderful or how horrible it is, will end one day, so make the most of it while it is called today!

I like this question and always enjoy the answers that are given. My favorite today is "To question is the answer". I cannot remember who is credited with first saying this and would love to know who did. Answers to bad questions lead us no where. The greatest gains in mans knowledge have come about when some one asks the right question (e.g. Physics over the past century).

"If this generation with their wanton disregard for authority, laziness and debauchery take over the world, it will be the ruin of us all" - Thomas Jefferson
I'm paraphrasing that, but it makes me think that our problems aren't really new at all, just in a new form.
I really like Minina's quote above - especially apt in my life right now.

"First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out -
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the communists
and I did not speak out -
because I was not a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out -
because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me -
and there was no one left to speak out for me."
- Pastor Niemoeller.
It's a bit deep but it reminds me why I shouldn't stand by in silence when I see anything I think is wrong - because if I don't speak up how can I ever hope anyone will speak up for me?

'Do something nice for a stranger today. And tell them to pass it forward.'
Wow, what if everybody did? And it went around the world.
