Eddie Murphy just isn't funny anymore. Shrek? Big deal. Daddy-Day Care? Oh, don't get me started...

I don't know if I'd say that they are past their best (speaking of older actors) - but unfortunately in Hollywood, actors reach a certain age where there just isn't the need for them in movies except for maybe as supporting roles or unless a movie is being made with older people as the stars - and unfortunately, those movies don't make money. I do have to add, however, that when I saw Mr. and Mrs. Smith (and I am big Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie fans), I thought that movie was disappointing for both of them.

i agree about al pacino, he seems to have become a cliche, just phoning it in, when you compare scarface to devils advocate, say, he seems to be doing a bad al pacino impression (i think you could say the same of robert de niro these days too) also sean connery, nothing decent since the untouchables! and michael caine, the way he got all righteous about getting the oscar for cider house rules practically saying it was about time he was recognised as a great talent and he was bloody awful in that film, his accent was shocking! really! the nerve! i just dont think actors now compare to the 'golden days' of cinema, the likes of james stewart, henry fonda, humphrey bogart etc.

Will Ferrel. Slapstick funny but not a genuine comedian. The Producers was good though but he should stick to things that aren't dumb... since he's still doing those dumb movies... he just might fall into Steve Martin's world...
