okay, so my mom has bible study at my boyfriend's parents house tonite and my boyfriend is in Colorado, so i might have to go and watch his nephew...my dad keeps telling me that i need to get in good w/ my bf's mother, but i'm like "i'm not sucking up b/c that's not me" do ya'll think that i should anyways? b/c i'm stubborn and dad keeps telling me that if i can't suck up to my bf's mom that i don't care enough about my bf..what do you think?

I think that if you are serious about this guy then you BETTER be nice to his mother. She would be your MOTHER-IN-LAW! So go watch the nephew and grow up. If you are old enough for a boyfriend then you are old enough to see why "kissing up" is important.

all the time you got a relationship, boyfriend or husband, girlfriend or wife. The inlaws are always the hard part of the relationship.
They never change, just evade in first times but sooner or later they become as themselves against you every time you don't do what they are specting. No matter your age, religion or economic flow....

You need to get over stubbornness because I know personally its not worth it, And I don't agree with how your dad worded it you shouldnt have to compromise yourself for anyone and its good that your b/f wants you to see his mom be your respectable self because she is older and have an open mind when you do.

I honestly don’t think so. U can be polite. Smile, laugh at her jokes, or something to that nature. But no u do not have to b stuck in her butt trying to get her to like u. Ultimately, its you and you bf, not u, her and ya bf...

i thought it was men who were meant 2 get raw deal with mother in laws but mines a ***** from hell i never met a woman like her but my advice 2 u is b polite and friendly but dont b a brown nose she either accepts u 4 who u r or she dont b yourself why shld u b anything else
