It always happens to me. I'm reading a series I love and I get all involved with the characters, then I'm out of books and anxiously waiting for the next one months away. I feel like I could devour everything about the series and reread them again and again. How do you deal with it?

You pick up a different book!
Thats how I've always done it. Or do somthing that will take your mind off the series. After a while (up to a week) I find I've got to a stage, where I would like to read the sequel, but I dont have to.

The main trick, is whenevrer you really want to read the sequel, distract yourself.

Yeah, reading a book series is hard, especially if it's on going. I should know. It's hard to read a book of a series and keep interest for the next book that comes out. The thing that helps me through is to come back to the other books eventually but read plenty of everything else. But I advise reading something that's a stand-alone, something that's not in a series. Not only will you be waiting for the next book in a series to come out, you have to worry about another.

I have been waiting for the third book in a series for over 3 years now... phoowhee... I have been reading other books by the same author (Melanie Rawn) , but I am running out. Reading them twice or three time only makes it worse, because they seem to get better everytime! I would say: Try another writer fo a few months, then when "your" new book comes out, reread the good previous ones en hurry to the store! Good luck!

It is frustrating, but reading other books does seem to pass the time. Finding a new series to love may help too. A new series I love is by Stephenie Meyer. The first one is Twilight, and the second New Moon, is out in August or September. (I've read the last week of August or mid-September). The Uglies trilogy by Scott Westerfeld is good too. And that series is finished. The books are Uglies, Pretties, and Specials.

I have the same problem, being a big fan of the Harry Potter series.
In the meantime, I re-read the books, join online HP fan sites (it's fun to speculate what will happen in the next book through the message boards), and connect with other fans.
Good luck!

I don't buy the book until the series is finished.. cause I'm not a patient person :) There are plenty of other things to read anyways.. lots of completed series.

I go through a book a day - so the distraction of other books and other series helps!

Well just read the series over and over, making sure you know pretty much everything that goes on.

Try to think of what will happen for the next book. Then, when the book comes out, you will see what actually happens! I do that and it really works!
