Any new laptop will come with either Windows XP Home or XP Professional and should come with a disk if you ever need to reload it.
If you bought used well...then you will need to buy the disk but before you do make sure your laptop will be able to load it.
Not sure about home but XP Pro is about $150 now. Fry's electronics, best buy, compusa, Amazon, etc...should all have it.
