It can be normal, perhaps the baby is in the wrong position. Take it easy, try to relax and talk to your ob/gyn about this concern. It may be no big deal.

Hmm, well I just turned 14 weeks and at 13 weeks it took them a bit to find the heartbeat but it was 170, but it kept getting mixed up with my own heartbeat. I'd say if the doctor was not worried wait a week or 2 and try again, my doctor said its really good to hear the heartbeat that early so that may mean you don't always hear it by then.

13 weeks seems to be on the early side for the doppler monitor. That is probably the earliest time, assuming the baby is in the right position and the doctor can locate it. Relax and try again next time.

When I went in with my son at 8 weeks we heard nothing. the dr. wasn't worried but I didn't have another appointment for a month. We finaly heard it at right around 13 weeks but it took a ling time to find it. He just wasn't in the right position. If your dr. wasn't worried I wouldn't worry.

Was your doctor worried when the heart beat wasn't heard?

If your doctor wasn't worried, I wouldn't worry quite yet. Just relax and let the worrying come when it's really needed..

I know the girl I work with had the same thing happen when she was about as far along as you. Everything was fine, they did do an ultrasound just to make sure.

Happened to me too, and I worried like crazy - but the doctor wasn't worried.
