I don't really believe in hell, but sometimes I joke around with people that we are already there.

Actually, I've heard that statement plenty of times but when I first heard it, that statement got me thinking. But really Hell is a totally different place just like Heaven is a different place. Our time on earth is just a process of passing through. You may be aware of the phrases "Heaven on earth" and "Hell on earth". These are just metaphors. Sometimes our lives feel "like" we're in Heaven and some other times we feel "like" our lives are a living Hell. The truth is that our feelings and imaginations can't even comprehend what Heaven or Hell really is. I mean I'm talking about two extremes here. The things you encounter here on earth is a combination of Heaven & Hell in very small amounts. But we are definitely not in Heaven or Hell.

There were times in my life I thought so too but I promise you that if you change your attitude and be grateful, warm, helpful and treat others with the respect you would like them to treat you you will change your question ank ask "has it ever crossed your mind that we may already be in heaven." My philosophy is time is all we have and life is all we know...make the best of it.
Live, love, dance, enjoy all of God's gifts. Just go outside and look and listen. It is a beautiful world.
