He is there because of a backroom deal when Tony Blair became leader. The PM would love to axe him, but politically he does not have the power anymore to do it.

Prescott should have been removed on the day that the PM won the last election. This man is a disgrace to the very 'working class' values that he claims to represent.

With no sense of service to the people, little humility, and an arrogant selfishness to his party - this man has chosen to stay in position. He has no real power, yet he is being paid more money that most hard working people could ever dream of earning.

John Prescott? He is a parasite on the body of the hard working British taxpayers.

Prescott is the last remnant on the front bench of what labour was founded for- representing the working man and striving for the socialist cause. This means people like Rupert Murdoch dont like him so they launch a smear campaign in their rags of a newspaper to try and force the guy out of office

Yes, he has a point. He was placed in the job he has now by a cynical Blair/Mandelson to appeal to the (mostly northern) working class voters. The "I don't give 'owt for New Labour, but that John Prescott is one of us and he's the Deputy Prime Minister- so I'll vote for them" bunch. And it worked, those two are political geniuses.

Of course there is. The man came from a working class background and ended up with a rent free flat in the city complete with mistress, a big f*ck off mansion in the country, free holidays in the states, not to mention two Jags. Now he's had his department taken away but still gets paid full whack for doin f*ck all, plus he punches people that throw eggs at him and dont get nicked for assault. I wish I could get a job like that; The man's a role model.

I simply cannot answer. I'm too distraught. How can such a worthless piece of humanity be in the position he is?
